Assurance

When closed countries are filled with countless obstacles we have to choose to trust God. I love the story of Noah. If we feel outnumbered by worldliness and wickedness take another look at Genesis 6:5, “Every inclination of the thoughts of [man’s] heart was only evil all the time.”  In a time when everyone was wicked, Noah remained righteous.  Like Noah’s family, believers in Jesus will be safely delivered from coming destruction. Jesus has covered us for all eternity. May this assurance be known to all who accept Christ.

August, 29th      1 Chronicles 16: 28 – 29 “Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name.”

The Fur.

This is a story from friends who work amongst the Fur:

“Halima is attracted by the stories her friend has told her, stories about the prophets  and about the Redeemer. She has learned a lot about sacrifices and that sin needs to be paid by death. Her friend told her that Jesus died as this perfect sacrifice and can now forgive the sin of men. As she cannot keep all the laws and commandments, she is in need of that. For several years she has believed in Jesus and tries to walk with Him, but life still seems so difficult.  Her friend encouraged her several times to only trust in Jesus and to let go of all the former beliefs. Her friend explained that Jesus would take care of her, and He would remove the fears she has.”

After three years she started to believe that Jesus could protect her from the evil eye and the fear of curses. Therefore, she decided to put her trust in Him and put away the amulets which had to protect her. Her family has had difficulty in accepting this decision( putting away the amulets)  and said that she was careless by not wearing any amulet. But Jesus showed her that He will take care by appearing to her in a dream. Since then her faith has grown and her sister has also decided to follow Jesus.

As the amount of believers in Darfur is growing,  it is our prayer, that the Lord can rule in all the areas of their  lives. . In Folk Islam there are so many beliefs that have been carried on from generation to generation. “What do I do when I am afraid, when a  child is sick, when  someone does evil to me???”

This questions need to be answered by a biblical answer, so that the Lord can deliver them fully. Please pray for that.

  • Pray for the followers of Christ
    There are few if any followers of Christ among the Fur, but pray the Lord will soon build His church among this ancient community. Pray they will keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
  • Pray for the entire people group
    Ask the Lord to help the Fur care properly for their families, and to live lives of peace in a dangerous land. Pray the Lord gives them increasing hunger to learn more about Isa (Jesus) of the Koran, the Prince of Peace

Pray for the Muslims in the USA:

* Pray for Christians in the USA to have increased understanding of Muslims and Islam. Christians must be the first to fight stereotypes and Islamophobia. Attitudes need to be in line with scriptural values concerning “our neighbours”.

* Christians in the US need to be prepared to share their faith with Muslims in a patient and non-aggressive manner. Pray for training programmes. Cultural and personal sensitivity is very important.

* Pray that God will raise up church-planters who can create ethnically-orientated church communities in regions where Muslims form a high percentage of the population. Some denominations have already taken up the challenge.

* Pray that churches and church leaders will seek the wisdom needed to help converted Muslims become integrated into typical American churches: the cultural differences are strong.
